Official Instagram help
What to try
Meta publishes the health of its business tools at metastatus.com. If only your account misbehaves (feed not refreshing, cannot post), log out and back in, update the app, and check whether a friend's account works on the same network.
Check if your own website is down
Type any address. Our server fetches it right now and tells you whether it answered, the HTTP status and how long it took.
Your own site goes down like this? HostKarle shared hosting: 99.9% uptime target, free SSL and free migration, from ₹99 a month on a yearly plan.
Frequently asked questions
See every service we check on the Is it down? page.
Is Instagram down right now?
At our last check (16 Oct, 22:20 IST) www.instagram.com answered normally in 2,818 ms (HTTP 200). In the last hour 0 people reported a problem with Instagram on this page. We check every 5 minutes.
What exactly do you check for Instagram?
Every 5 minutes our server requests Instagram's website at instagram.com. We record whether it answered, the HTTP status and the response time, and keep 7 days of results. We do not log in, make payments or test the mobile app.
Instagram shows as up, but it is not working for me. Why?
The public website can be fine while logins, payments, the app or your own network are failing. Try another network (mobile data instead of Wi-Fi), update the app, and press "Report a problem" on this page so others can see it is not just them. A burst of reports in one hour is a strong sign of a real outage.
What should I do while Instagram is down?
Meta publishes the health of its business tools at metastatus.com. If only your account misbehaves (feed not refreshing, cannot post), log out and back in, update the app, and check whether a friend's account works on the same network.
Is this the official Instagram status page?
No. HostKarle is an Indian web hosting company and this is an independent check. For official help, use the links in the "Official help" box on this page.
